“Stone Cold” Steve Austin may be training for one more match. As previously reported, rumors have been running wild about the possible new working relationship between Austin and WWE, and it seems that one more match may not be out of the question for the Texas Rattlesnake.
The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Austin’s recent public claim that he is training hard currently is a sign that he is getting ready to return to action for at least one more match. Rumors of Austin appearing at WrestleMania in some sort of match have existed for years now, but most recently Austin himself has said that he would be open to a match if the creative angle, and the pay, is good enough.
Many think that Austin could work either WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California, or WrestleMania 32, which will likely be held at AT&T Stadium in Texas. Rumors have pitted Austin possibly against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 if Lesnar was to lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to John Cena at “Night Of Champions.” Austin himself has previously stated that he would like to work a match with Lesnar on the big stage.
Other possible opponents listed for Lesnar if he does lose the title on Sept. 21 and doesn’t face Roman Reigns for the championship at WrestleMania 31 are The Undertaker and The Rock. Vince McMahon apparently wants Lesnar to face The Rock at WrestleMania, but Austin is also on the table.
Editor’s Note:
How they would get to Lesnar/Austin…is beyond me. Is it 2004?
