A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an in-depth look into Stephanie McMahon’s new role in the WWE. McMahon’s job description has changed over the last few weeks with the recent corporate shifts for the WWE, as she is now the Chief Brand Officer of the company.
McMahon’s new job as C.B.O is to embark on a quest such as that of a customer relations officer, where she will try to improve the reputation of the company in the eyes of advertisers, the media, investors, business partners and the public as a whole. McMahon wants to increase “family participation” in the WWE, which means making the product seem attractive to all members of the household. In a strange way, in relation to her current storyline on WWE TV, McMahon is now the actual “face of the WWE.”
McMahon told the Wrestling Observer in Santa Clara during the WrestleMania 31 announcement this week that because she is an on-screen talent, she may have ideas to throw at WWE Creative, but as far as working with that team on a day-to-day basis, she is finished. Triple H has taken over her position with the Creative team, as we reported last week.
McMahon’s new role is essentially to create a new image for the WWE. An image that is friendly an accessible for kids, women, mothers, and families. The WWE wants this time to be the transitional period of moving away from the WWE being “Vince McMahon’s company,” and into a more accessible product for all ages, genders, race, and creed.
