On Tuesday, Feb. 25, WWE taped the Feb. 26 edition of “WWE Main Event” in addition to the Feb. 28 edition of “WWE Smackdown” in Milwaukee, Wis.
Below are the spoilers for the Feb. 28 edition of “WWE Smackdown”:
*A memorial for Nelson Frazier, Jr. (Mabel, Viscera, Big Daddy V) opens “Smackdown.” It’s then announced that the Usos and Daniel Bryan will be facing WWE Tag Team Champions New Age Outlaws and Kane on the program. WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee vs. Cameron in a rematch from “Monday Night Raw” was also announced.
*Batista hits the ring to a chorus of boos, and a few cheers. The Animal claims that he “loves this business and company” and that he did not come back to be liked by the fans. During his address, a huge CM Punk chant breaks out amongst the Milwaukee crowd.
Batista repeats his statement from “RAW,” saying the WWE Universe doesn’t have to support him, but they have to deal with him [and his position in the WWE WrestleMania XXX main event]. He claims that it’s a fact he can destroy anyone that faces him, which initiated a Daniel Bryan chant.
Batista asks “what the hell happened to this business, the real men, the attitude.” A “YES” chant envelopes the crowd. Batista then asks if the fans honestly think their heroes are as good as he is. If they do, then they need to get out of their fantasy world and they need to get out of his [world]. He claims he will destroy each of the fans’ “heroes” on the Road to WrestleMania where he will become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Enter Dolph Ziggler to a great pop. Instantly a “Let’s Go Ziggler” chant breaks out. Ziggler started out by saying, “You don’t tell these people who to cheer for” and that they will cheer for who they want. He said Batista is a “dinosaur” and sooner or later they become extinct. Ziggler challenges Batista to a match, The Animal accepts, and Ziggler hits a dropkick on Batista before leaving the ring.
1.) The Real Americans def. Big E / Mark Henry. Cesaro hits The Neutralizer on Henry for the win. Visible tension continued to build between Jack Swagger and Cesaro throughout the match.
* A backstage segment between Vickie Guerrero and Alberto Del Rio is shown. Del Rio says he is taking the night off just before Sheamus arrives and challenges Del Rio to a match.
2.) Sheamus def. Alberto Del Rio via DQ. Christian comes out during the match and joins the commentary team. He then gets Del Rio disqualified by attacking Sheamus. Sheamus threw Christian out of the ring just before connecting with a Brogue Kick to Del Rio. Christian would have the last laugh by hitting a Killswitch on Sheamus before walking back to the locker room.
* The Shield is shown arguing backstage. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are yelling at each other when Seth Rollins provides the voice of reason.
3.) Batista def. Dolph Ziggler. Batista hits a Batista Bomb for the win. Batista played heel big time, playing up to the crowd. He even gets in the face of fans sitting at ringside. Boring chants and CM Punk chants ensue throughout the bout.
*The Wyatt Family comes out to cut a promo in reference to Cena. Out comes The Shield. The two factions stared down each other as Triple H enters the picture. Triple H makes a match between the Shield and the Wyatt Family for the March 3 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” then tells the Shield they should stand down. They engaged in a quick brawl before separating.
4.) AJ Lee def. Cameron. AJ wins via submission.
*Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker’s confrontation from “RAW” was shown, and it was said that they will confront each other again on March 3.
5.) Daniel Bryan / The Usos def. Kane / New Age Outlaws. Daniel Bryan hits the running knee on Billy Gunn for the win.
