The upcoming release of “See No Evil 2” is likely the reason behind Kane’s removal of his mask during the Aug. 4 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Following his loss to Roman Reigns, Kane removed his mask and gave it to Stephanie McMahon yet again, much like he did in the Fall of 2013.
The removal of Kane’s mask left many in the WWE Universe wondering what that meant for Kane. Would he be retiring? Would he be returning as “Corporate Kane?” WWE.com has even polled the WWE Universe asking them what they think the action meant for the “Big Red Machine.”
The poll asks, “Does the removal of Kane’s mask mean: We’ve seen the last of him. He will come back more dangerous than ever. The Authority is weakened. The Authority has consolidated its power. With almost 5,000 votes, 32 percent of fans that have voted believe “we’ve seen the last of Kane.” 31 percent believe that “he will be back more dangerous than ever.”
However, the act was likely done to have Kane more resemble his character in the upcoming “See No Evil 2,” where he reprises his role as the serial killer Jacob Goodnight. The film will be released on Oct. 17, and Kane will need to do some promotional work for it during the next few months.
Kane removed his mask and gave it to Stephanie McMahon in October of 2013, taking on the “Corporate Kane” moniker in order to take time away from serious active competition while he was filming his part of the movie. When filming wrapped, and The Authority wanted “The Demon” to return, he returned to wearing the mask. That is, until Aug. 4.
Editor’s Note:
Some people actually think Kane will bring the “Jacob Goodnight” character to WWE TV. (Gives you a look of “yeah right”) C’mon son! He’s Kane! He’s not going to go by Jacob Goodnight on WWE TV. Geez.
