Rusev is the new United States Champion. During a special bout on the WWE Network that aired on Nov. 3 immediately following “Monday Night Raw,” Rusev claimed his first championship in his WWE career, beating Sheamus for the US title.

Sheamus held the United States Championship for more than 100 days, and had never “tapped out” during his championship run. During his first bout with Rusev however, the Great White “submitted” by passing out while in the grips of the Bulgarian Brute’s version of the Camel Clutch, which he calls the Accolade.

Reports have existed for weeks about WWE officials wanting the United States Championship on the anti-American character that is Rusev. The new champ will likely hold the US strap until an American combatant can take the title off of him, likely on the road to, or at, WrestleMania 31.

Editor’s Note:
Well…we knew this was going to happen. Now WWE can say, “if you had the Network, you could have seen it.”
