Following WWE’s promotion of “The Steve Austin Show” during the Sept. 15 of “Monday Night Raw,” rumors surface of WWE and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin possibly working together again. Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of “Wrestling Observer Radio” provided further speculation about Austin’s relationship with WWE during the Sept. 16 edition of their show.
During the Sept. 15 edition of “RAW,” WWE promoted an edition of “The Steve Austin” show, which features former WWE Champion Kevin Nash as Austin’s guest. The way the podcast was promoted on the program is what led to some (including myself) to question why WWE would plug Austin’s show the way they did.
Numerous current and former WWE superstars have their own podcasts, which are rarely (if ever) promoted by WWE on-air. Most recently, Triple H appeared on Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” program, and while it was promoted on WWE.com, it was never discussed or plugged on WWE television.
Rumors of Austin working with WWE always lead to someone questioning whether or not The Rattlesnake will be returning to the ring for “one more match” anytime soon. Austin has always said he would work another WrestleMania main event if the angle and price was right, although friends and colleagues of Austin such as WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross have always seemed to debunk rumors of Austin returning to the ring.
Editor’s Note:
It was odd the way Austin’s podcast was plugged on “RAW.” I even tweeted about it during the show while LIVE tweeting from the @WrestleRumors account.
