In a recent post on Twitter, former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion Rikishi comments on being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015 on March 28. As previously reported, other stars such as “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and “Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko are expected to be inducted that night as well.
Rikishi, real name Solofa Fatu, Jr., worked for WWE/WWF for over 10 years, appearing as part of The Headshrinkers, as Fatu, The Sultan, and of course, Rikishi. It wasn’t until 1999, when he became a member of the group “Too Cool,” that his career really took off.
He then worked as a semi-main eventer until his departure in 2004, where he worked on the Independent circuit and TNA Wrestling. He returned under a WWE Legends contract in 2012, and has appeared on WWE programming a random times since then. His twin sons, The Usos, are set to induct him into the Hall of Fame on March 28.
Rikishi posted the following on Twitter after all was confirmed and announced in regards to his induction, saying,
