The top matches for “SummerSlam” may have been revealed. The following matches are reportedly what’s in store for the Summer’s biggest PPV, albeit cards are always subject to change. Four matches in this line-up were confirmed by Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, while the others we can confirm are penciled in via our sources.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
1.) John Cena (c) vs Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman)
WWE has already promoted this match as the PPV’s main event. It’s the poster for the event. Cena vs Lesnar will be the money maker, clear and simple. Lesnar will likely win the title.
2.) Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins
This match will be a continuation of Rollins and Ambrose’s feud. The Money in the Bank briefcase may even be put on the line.
3.) Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella
We’ve seen this coming from miles away. Brie “quit,” but will be back. Steph is continuing the storyline by constantly being an issue for Nikki Bella. Brie will likely return to WWE TV shortly, and take on the Princess of the company on Aug. 17.
4.) Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton
Initially reported as Triple H vs. Reigns, it looks like their match has been moved to “Night Of Champions” in September. Reigns will go one-on-one with Orton before he gets his hands on the authoritative Triple H.
5.) Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho
Jericho returned on the June 30 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” and Wyatt attacked him. Jericho loves Wyatt and has worked with him before. When Jericho was asked to compete with someone in NXT, he personally chose Wyatt to work with. Their program coming over the next couple of months should be outstanding, as both men are mic masters and incredible in-ring performers.
6.) AJ Lee (c) vs. Paige
Paige lost her Divas Championship to the woman she won the title from on April 7 during the June 30 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Lee returned and regained the Divas Champion, and the two are set to feud over the next couple of months for the coveted Divas title.
