A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims Sting has officially signed a WWE contract. As we previously reported, Sting had reportedly signed a WWE Legends contract months ago, but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer claims the deal was just finalized between the two parties.

While the details surrounding the deal are unknown, Sting is scheduled to be on WWE television in the near future. Intitially, Sting signed under the impression that he would finally get to work with the Undertaker, but now a match with the Phenom is up in the air after his WrestleMania XXX loss and rumored retirement. Additionally, WWE is about to crank out a plethora of Sting merchandise.

Meltzer goes on to report that The Rock had at one time said Sting was one man he wished he could have worked with, so the possibility of seeing that, albeit small, is there. For now, the only details confirmed about Sting’s deal include him appearing on WWE programming. Whether that is in a General Manager role, or solely to build towards one final match at WrestleMania 31, is yet to be seen. Either way, it’s about to be “showtime” for World Wrestling Entertainment fans.

As we previously reported, Sting has confirmed appearances for independent promotions up until June, which is he is working for WWE at that time, he would have to cancel.

Editor’s Note: I’ll believe it when I see him on my TV screen…but it seems like Sting may ACTUALLY have signed a deal with WWE. Hopefully he’s dedicated to getting back into “sting shape” so that he can earn his “sting money” without having to wear a t-shirt.
