Daniel Bryan may return in November for “Survivor Series.” As previously reported, Bryan will not need a second surgery and should be returning to in-ring competition near the end of 2014.
Bryan was initially scheduled to have Tommy John surgery in the middle of September, but doctors then said they wanted to do more testing to be sure Bryan needed to undergo the procedure. When it was discovered Bryan was finally beginning to regain strength in his right arm, his need for Tommy John was waved off and Bryan was given an earlier estimated time-of-return, albeit depending on the success of his current rehabilitation and strength training.
Bryan had neck surgery shortly after disclosing that he has had serious issues with pressure on certain nerves that were causing him to lose feeling in his right arm. He was then stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and put on the shelf with a return seemingly unlikely until 2015. However, new reports claim that WWE is looking to bring back the company “YES” man in November.
PWInsider.com claims that WWE officials are hoping to have Bryan back in action by November so that he may be used at the “Survivor Series” PPV on Nov. 23. While this is when they would love to seem him back in the ring, they are also not wanting to rush his progress and want him to be 100 percent before stepping back into the ring. Prior to undergoing surgery, Bryan was expected to lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Brock Lesnar at “SummerSlam” on Aug. 17. That job was then passed on to John Cena.
While it is unsure of what type of match Bryan would be involved in upon his return, he has openly challenged Lesnar in recent interviews, stating that he wants The Beast and a shot at the title when he gets back into the squared circle. With the company lacking believable main event players to place in big drawing matches with Lesnar moving forward, many believe Bryan will be inserted into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture immediately following his return.
Editor’s Note:
YES! Come on back, sir. We’re waiting. I swear…if they bring him back for a Buried Alive match against Kane at “Survivor Series” to retire the Big Red Machine…I may stop watching altogether.
