Randy Orton has reportedly signed a new “limited schedule” contract with WWE. As previously reported, Orton has been contemplating taking time off as of late due to apparent displeasure with his current role and burn out.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Orton will now no longer be required to work weekend Live Events. This will mean that “The Viper” is no longer a “Full-time” WWE competitor, as he will not have to travel as much with the company.
Rumors claim that Orton is unhappy with his current position in the company. He reportedly feels like WWE creative has done very little with him or his character since WrestleMania XXX, and wanted some time off. However, it is likely WWE offered him this new deal to keep him on TV, but off the road as much as possible. He is also rumored to turn face very soon and feud with Seth Rollins and The Authority
With the current lack of roster depth within the company, WWE could not afford to give Orton several weeks off, which is why this new contract was likely drafted and signed by both parties.
Editor’s Note:
Well, add someone else to the “part-timer” list for EVERYONE to complain about. At least he should be on TV each week, though.
