Dean Ambrose has been the “talk of the town” as of late, main eventing “Monday Night Raw” and showcasing a great amount of charisma and in-ring talent along the way. With fans seemingly rallying behind the “Lunatic Fringe,” F4Wonline.com has released a report that alludes to the perception of Dean Ambrose in the eyes of WWE officials.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, many top WWE executives are not buying Ambrose as a main event player just yet. While they have acknowledged that he seems to be gaining a solid organic fan base, they do not believe that he has proved that he deserves to be one of the top guys in the company as of Aug. 20, 2014.
Ambrose faced former Shield brethren Seth Rollins during the main event of the Aug. 18 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” in what many are calling a “Match of the Year” candidate. While Ambrose lost the match, he shined throughout the bout, and came up short when he was “curb stomped” through a pile of cinderblocks. He was attacked in this way so that he could be written off of television for a few months.
Ambrose will be filming the starring role for WWE Studios upcoming movie, “Lockdown,” and will return to WWE action in the Fall. It is assumed that he will resume his feud with Rollins upon his return.
Editor’s Note:
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Ambrose is more over than REIGNS! Not to mention he’s the closest thing the company has seen to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin since he retired. He reminds me SO much of Austin circa 1997, just on the cusp of breaking out into a HUGE star. Strap a saddle to Dean Ambrose. I have a feeling he’ll be taking off VERY soon.
