A new report from PWInsider.com has revealed the original “Monday Night Raw” plans for Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family. As seen, Wyatt would face John Cena during the Aug. 25 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” getting manhandled by the former champion, which would bring in The Wyatt Family and the duo of Big Show and Mark Henry. A six-man main event would be created in the face of this turmoil.
Reportedly, this was not the original script for the show, and plans were changed sometime late Monday afternoon just before the company began promoting Cena vs. Wyatt. Originally, Big Show and Henry were to take on The Wyatt Family in a tag match that would bring Wyatt out to attack Big Show and further build his dominant character following his victory over Chris Jericho at “SummerSlam.”
Wyatt was to run-in and deliver “Sister Abigail” to Big Show, taking down and laying out the World’s Largest Athlete. However, plans were changed when Cena needed a formidable opponent to destroy moving forwards in his feud with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Cena then made Wyatt look foolish throughout their match, and would seemingly run through all three “monstrous” members of The Wyatt Family with extreme ease during the main event as Show and Henry cheered on.
Editor’s Note:
If this is true…I’m convinced that Vince and WWE have lost touch on protecting characters…that they’ve lost touch on what works and what doesn’t.
