A match between Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt is expected to happen at the “Royal Rumble” Pay-Per-View on Jan. 26. A report from F4Wonline.com and the Wrestling Observer Radio states that Bryan is likely to face Wyatt at the annual January PPV event, as well as all upcoming WWE Live Events.

During the last episode of “Monday Night Raw” of 2013, Bryan joined the Wyatts and became part of their “family.” The purpose of this in storyline was to show that Bryan had lost all hope of overcoming the obstacles that the “machine,” or the authority figures of WWE, throw in his way. His partnership with the Wyatts was supposed to help elevate him to a new level of viciousness and destruction. However, the storyline, which only lasted a mere two weeks, fell very flat for the WWE Universe.

Many officials and fans believed that this was a bad move for WWE to turn Bryan heel and put him with the Wyatt Family. Reports then hit the internet that claimed the idea of having him join the heel faction was rushed by WWE Creative, where the team honestly had no end-game payoff in sight when they booked Bryan’s turn on “RAW.” Then, as discussed on Wrestling Observer Radio, Michigan State University led the country and their fans in a massive “YES!” chant, proving that Bryan is too much of a commodity to WWE as a face.

The fan response is the main reason why Daniel Bryan returned to being the over-the-top babyface character that the WWE Universe loves during the Jan. 13 episode of “Monday Night Raw.” The end of the broadcast saw Bryan attack Bray Wyatt in a steel cage. Shedding his “Wyatt jumpsuit,” Bryan laid into Wyatt with multiple high-spot moves, ending with the running knee. Then, as the fans exploded with cheers and massive “YES!” chants, Bryan sat atop the cage in all of the “turn’s” glory, motioning to the fans to continue their chants, and letting them know that he had returned to his rightful role as their “hero.”

Only a week-and-a-half remains until the 27 annual “Royal Rumble” PPV, which will air on Jan. 26, and Bryan vs. Wyatt is expected to be announced as early as during the Jan. 14 “Smackdown” tapings. WrestlingRumors.net will update you as soon as this match is confirmed.
