F4Wonline.com has provided the latest update on Rey Mysterio. According to the report, Mysterio has had stem cell procedures in hopes of improving his knees, and they are currently healthy.
The report featured in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter goes on to note that Mysterio is also not currently wrestling, which may be why he is experiencing zero issues with his knees at the moment. Mysterio, who is currently still employed with WWE, has been a big point of discussion as of late in the wrestling business.
His WWE contract was set to expire in May and he was set to leave the company, likely for Mexican promotion AAA, but was then extended without his consent by Vince McMahon. McMahon feels as if Mysterio owes the company more time due to consistent injuries during his last few years as a WWE employee.
Because of his contractual ties to WWE, Rey Mysterio could not appear in person during AAA’s recent TripleMania event, despite rumors of him wanting to join the company. Instead, Mysterio appeared via video during the show. Mysterio is still looking to get out of his contract with WWE, and has considered taking legal action.
Recent reports claimed that Mysterio had a verbal agreement with Triple H that would allow him to leave WWE once his contract expired in May, but that McMahon stepped in and vetoed the idea keeping Mysterio locked into a deal with the company that he hasn’t wrestled for since April 7. Mysterio is currently still rehabilitating a hand injury and no time-table has been set for his return.
