In a slew of new posts through his official Twitter account, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash comments on the on-going Hulk Hogan controversy surrounding racism and bigotry. As previously reported, Hogan was fired and scrubbed by WWE from all of his current and future company projects due to racially charged comments that he made during a secretly filmed sex tape between the Hulkster and Heather Clem.
WWE took immediate action in terminating Hogan’s contract, and Hogan apologized for the remarks he made in that state-of-mind eight years ago, but the damage was done. There’s no excuse for that kind of bigotry, although all humans make mistakes, Hogan did claim to be a “little racist” in the video.
Nash took to Twitter to comment on the situation, saying he has never seen Hogan be racist towards anyone. He writes,
“I’ve spent the last 23 years of my life with Hulk. I’ve been in the most diverse of situations and never heard Hulk use a racial slur.
In no way dismissing the remarks.Just looking at the situation. Sex tape thats set up.Tapes that are easily edited. Content that was pushed.
I’ve watched Hulk do 10,000 make awish greetings. Religion creed or color. Never changed the love he shared.Judge a man put him with a child.”
Nash and Hogan were two of the original three members of the nWo faction that led to a lot of WCW’s success when rivaling WWE in the mid-1990s. They recently appeared alongside each other and Scott Hall as the reunited stable at WrestleMania 31, assisting Sting in his battle against Triple H and the reunited D-Generation X faction.
Editor’s Note:
What do you think about Nash’s remarks? Seems like a lot of people didn’t see that side of Hogan, ever.
