According to new reports, former WWE Tag Team Champion Jimmy Uso is set to replace Byron Saxton on “Smackdown” for a while as Saxton is on “Monday Night Raw.” As previously reported, Saxton has been moved to “RAW” to fill in for WWE Hall of Famer Booker T while he is off filming WWE “Tough Enough.”
Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com claims that Uso will be getting a “tryout” as a commentator on “Smackdown” while Saxton is working Monday nights. Uso hasn’t been doing much in the form of wrestling while his brother has been out rehabilitating a shoulder injury. Jey Uso had surgery on his shoulder in April, and has been out since.
Jimmy Uso had a few matches after his brother began rehab, and accompanied his wife Naomi to the ring prior to her heel turn. However, once she became heel and Tamina Snuka was added with her, Uso was removed. The only real mention of Uso since May has been that Snuka is his cousin, which is why she’s with Naomi.
Meltzer writes,
“With Booker T on Tough Enough, for now, Byron Saxton will be the regular third man on Raw and Jimmy Uso is getting a tryout as an announcer on Smackdown.”
Uso is expected to return to action once his brother returns, and the duo is needed as a hot babyface team in a very lackluster Tag Team division.
Editor’s Note:
This should be interesting. Uso has a good voice though, so it shouldn’t be too awful.
