WWE.com posted a list of the “Top 10 Chants in WWE History” Thursday, and has “Fandangoing” in the countdown at #9. This is surprising as the chant has only been heard during one WWE program. Unsure of what “Fandangoing” is?
“Fandangoing” is the act of humming or singing WWE Superstar Fandango’s theme music, “ChaChaLaLa.” It’s started last Monday night, April 8th, in New Jersey when Raw took place at the IZOD center. The entire arena began the chant during Fandango’s match with Kofi Kingston, but continued to “Fandangoing” for the rest of the night. During the last two matches of the night, the crowd continued to skat the Ballroom Dancing anthem. As we noted Tuesday, the fans continued “Fandangoing” even after the event was over, chanting in the parking lots, subway stations, and even in the trains as they departed for home.
“Fandangoing” has also spurned a movement on social media outlets using the hashtag, #FandangoRevolution. Fans continue to use the hashtag with talking about “Fandangoing,” or that Jim Johnston’s “ChaChaLaLa” is continuing to climb up the iTunes charts in the UK and the US. The #FandangoRevolution is not only happening between wrestling fans though, mainstream sports networks, such as the MLB network and Fox Sports, have been using the theme music as intro’s and outro’s for their programming all week.
