ECW Original Axl Rotten is raising funds for surgery through the popular Crowd-Funding site GoFundMe.com. According to the page, Rotten needs a procedure done on his spine, and is asking for friends and colleges to rally together to assist him in this time of need.

Rotten’s GoFundMe page has been mentioned by former WWE Champion Chris Jericho and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross as of late. Due to the promotion by the former WWE heavyweights, Rotten has raised $1,055 of his $12,000 goal.

The profile on Rotten’s GoFundMe page reads as follows,

“Brian Knighton (Axl Rotten) began his wrestling career at the age of 17. Now at the age of 44 his career is almost certainly over. Despite entertaining thousands of fans around the world and been a major proponent in establishing hardcore wrestling as a legitimate attraction he is not a wealthy man and is need of your assistance.

On October 30th 2014 his back gave way from years of bumping and he was left in agony on the floor. Since then he has been hospitalised at Peninsula Regional Medical Center reserving physical therapy daily. Originally it was in the hopes he could resume his career, and walk again. Sadly doctors have now informed him that surgery is unavoidable and he requires two spinal surgeries on his cervical vertebrae. If these surgeries are not a success then spending the rest of his life in a wheelchair is a very realistic possibility.

Brian is now at the point where he has exhausted all his medical coverage and being unable to work cannot pay his bills. In addition he needs to arrange to make his home wheelchair accessible when he does get leave the hospital.

For those of you who quite rightly wonder about his substance abuse, He is proud to be clean of all non-medically prescribed drugs. He is both emotionally and mentally in the best place he has been in years, Unfortunately he is though physically at his lowest ebb.

I thank you for reading this and ask you please give as much as you can and help Brian not be another casualty of the wrestling business.

If you are not familiar with using GoFundMe another source of money to Brian is his Pro Wrestling Tees store.”

You can pledge and assist Rotten in his fundraising by accessing his GoFundMe page.
