A new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims DISH Network has issued a statement on why they will not be carrying WWE Pay-Per-Views, including WrestleMania XXX, going forward. As we previously reported, DISH revealed that they would no longer be carrying WWE PPVs just before “Elimination Chamber.” Now, the company is currently issuing a form letter to subscribers who ask them if they will carry WrestleMania XXX.
The letter that DISH Network is sending to subscribers reads as follows,
“Please note that WWE is not willing to adjust PPV costs to satellite/cable companies, which is unfair to their customers. DISH needs to re-focus efforts to support partners that better serve DISH customers, and other satellite/cable companies, including DirecTV, have also expressed they may no longer provide WWE PPV events in the future.”
It should be noted that DirecTV is carrying WrestleMania, but World Wrestling Entertainment is under the assumption that a number of companies, possibly including DirecTV, will be dropping WWE PPVs following WrestleMania XXX. WWE executives have claimed that every company aside from DISH Network will be carrying WrestleMania. However, negotiations with those companies will move to a month-by-month basis moving forward with each event.
