New reports have provided further details surrounding the upcoming title matches at “Elimination Chamber” on May 31. As previously reported, at least two WWE Championship matches are set to take place inside of the Elimination Chamber, including a WWE Tag Team Championship bout, and a match for the vacant Intercontinental Championship.

WWE announced that “Elimination Chamber” would be returning to their Pay-Per-View schedule during the May 11 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” While no opponents for said matches have yet to be confirmed, it has been revealed that the United States Championship and WWE World Heavyweight Championship will also be on the line during the event, yet they will likely not actually take place inside of the chamber itself.

Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that WWE may see six teams compete inside of the chamber for the WWE Tag Team Titles, instead of three. Current WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day are expected to compete in the bout, as well as Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.

The recently reunited Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are also being discussed as competitors for the match, as are The Prime Time Players. The Lucha Dragons, Los Matadores, Axelmania and Macho Mandow, and The Ascension are also being talked about as potential challengers. The concept would make the match a Tornado Tag bout, with every superstar in the ring at once.

Being an “elimination” match, once someone from a tag team is pinned or submits, that team must leave the ringside area. If the company goes down this road for the match, both wrestlers from each team would be put into a pod together and released at the same time.

In regards to the WWE Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber Match, the contestants are rumored to be Neville, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, King Barrett, R-Truth, and Dean Ambrose. The line-up could change, but as reported earlier, Sheamus is being advertised as the Intercontinental Champion in advertisements for future WWE Live Events, which means no matter who is in the match, the Celtic Warrior may already have been the man selected to carry the strap after May 31.

Editor’s Note:

That Tornado Tag Elimination Chamber Match would be insane. Dangerous, VERY dangerous, but awesome to watch.
