A new report from PWInsider.com has provided further details about Justin Gabriel’s WWE walk out on Jan. 19. As previously reported, Gabriel left the company just before the Jan. 19 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” much like CM Punk did a year prior.
Gabriel was granted his release a few days following him quitting the company. Apparently, Gabriel made the decision to walk out after being told the company didn’t have anything for him when it came to putting him on WWE television.
PWInsider.com claims that Gabriel showed up for “Monday Night Raw” on Jan. 19 that day and he was told that WWE officials had nothing for him, which is how his status has been for months, aside from when he was appearing at Adam Rose’s bunny. He then left the arena, with different stories of where he went being told. Someone said he went sky diving, and another said he went sight-seeing.
When Gabriel returned to the arena a few hours later and was told officials still had nothing for him, Gabriel determined that he didn’t want to be in the company anymore and booked a flight home. He reportedly received a phone call from the head of WWE Talent Relations, Mark Carrano, in between connecting flights. Carrano told Gabriel that they had a “RAW” segment booked for him, but couldn’t find him anywhere to do the run down with about it.
It was then that Gabriel reportedly told Carrano that he was on his way home, and was done working for the company. WWE officials were upset with the way Gabriel walked out, but granted his release just a few days following Jan. 19.
Editor’s Note:
Gabriel will rack up on the Indy scene. Probably the best move for him.
