The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided details about why Brock Lesnar left during “Monday Night Raw” on Feb. 23. As previously reported, Lesnar did not like something that WWE executives, namely Vince McMahon, said to him during the show, and he stormed out visibly upset.

According to the new report, Lesnar had an issue with something in regards to the new contract WWE is offering him. The business disagreement between Lesnar and McMahon, while still not fully known by anyone outside of WWE, apparently related to negotiations regarding Lesnar and his status with WWE moving forward.

Dave Meltzer reports the following about the issue, whatever it may be,

“The situation, which was not settled at press time, could be settled quickly and perhaps even easily but right now the two sides are at a key impasse related to the new deal and neither side wants to be the one to back down.

What that disagreement was over has been kept secret, but we were told it was all business and had nothing at all to do with current or future creative. The business dispute related to why he didn’t appear on the show, and the company was forced to change its scripting. Lesnar left the arena while the show was going on and flew home. There were reports that he flew on his private jet, but that’s incorrect. When Lesnar comes to WWE shows, the WWE provides him a private jet from his home and back to his home as one of the stipulations of his contract.

At Smackdown, Vince McMahon told people in the company there was an unresolved problem, but wouldn’t elaborate on what it was.

Lesnar was never booked on the 3/2 Raw in Newark, NJ. He currently has four dates left on his contract, which are the 3/9 Raw in Pittsburgh, the 3/23 Raw in Los Angeles, WrestleMania and the Raw the day after WrestleMania in San Jose. He is still advertised for all of those shows.

Those in the company believe Lesnar will be at all his remaining contracted dates, because not doing so would constitute a breach of contract.

Without knowing what the dispute is, and its severity, it’s impossible to know what it means as far as the remainder of the contract and the potential of renewing of the deal.”

Editor’s Note:
Lesnar isn’t upset with creative, obviously because they’ve made him look indestructible, but it’s probably all about money.
