Daniel Bryan will compete at “Royal Rumble” on Jan. 25. During the Dec. 29 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Bryan announced that he would be returning to active competition during the 28th annual Royal Rumble match.
Bryan has been out of action since May after having to undergo surgery. It was announced that he had an injury and would have to go under the knife, which led to vague descriptions from the company and the superstar as to what the status of his health actually was.
Multiple reports speculated on Bryan’s situation. Would he need Tommy John surgery? Would he be forced to retire from competition? When would he return if cleared? Bryan’s “RAW” appearance cleared up all confusion.
After teasing that he would was at a “crossroads,” and would be making an announcement on Dec. 29, Bryan announced his return would come on Jan. 25 as a competitor at the “Royal Rumble.” Only the second entrant confirmed, Bryan will join Roman Reigns in the annual 30-man Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal to determine who will head to WrestleMania 31 as the No. 1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
