In a recent post on Twitter, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel teases his return. During the Sept. 29 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” which Axel did not appear on, he sent out the cryptic text, claiming he will return to “RAW” soon and that a door would be shutting on a chapter of his career.

Axel has been off of WWE television since his former tag team partner Ryback was sidelined to do hernia surgery. While the team of RybAxel had never really been deemed a success, the pair had garnered a small but rabid fan following. However, it seems as if Axel is referring to the team being dissolved upon his return when he claims that, “a door will be closed.”

His tweet reads,

Ryback is expected to return soon, and is rumored to be returning with some sort of singles push. Axel may be re-entering the WWE fold under the same pretense, though it is highly unlikely Axel will be “pushed” into any type of main event setting. Ryback, on the other hand, may return to a main event role, much like the one he played at the end of 2012 and into the beginning of 2013.

Editor’s Note:
I actually liked Ryback and Axel more together as a team, though it looks like RybAxel may truly be coming to an end.
