Chris Benoit Will Be Featured in WWE’s Upcoming “War Games” DVD

Multiple sources are confirming that Chris Benoit will be featured in WWE’s upcoming “War Games” DVD. WWE producers have removed certain portions of the color commentary that took place during the match featuring Benoit, but his in-ring work with the 4 Horsemen as they face the New World Order (B-teamers) from WCW Fall Brawl: War Games ’97 will be included on the DVD.

Benoit has been strenuously removed from most if not all WWE productions since he murdered his wife and son before taking his own life in 2007. The WWE has tried to distance themselves from the tragedy since the details of the event were revealed. The cause of Benoit’s fall from the top is still debated, whether it was due to brain trauma or related to steroid abuse, but before this horrible tragedy took place, Benoit was an amazing wrestling talent. Now, 6 years since the incident, the WWE has decided to include Benoit in a company produced video project. Maybe this means the WWE will begin to include more of the “Rabid Wolverine’s” matches in future DVD compilations as well. While his heinous actions can never be excused, promoted, or defended, most wrestling fans still believe that his work in the ring for 20+ years should still be showcased and remembered.
