A recent report from F4Wonline.com has revealed backstage plans for WWE’s SummerSlam PPV. The report mentions a lot of big names and who they could be facing at the annual August event. Most notably, the plans for the Wyatt Family were discussed.
As reported earlier, the Wyatts are rumored to be starting a program with Kane following their attack on the “Big Red Machine” Monday night. WWE’s unofficial plans for SummerSlam have the Wyatt Family working a six-man tag match, most likely against Kane and the Undertaker, or two other opponents if the Undertaker cannot perform.
WrestlingRumors.net previously noted that the WWE wanted have The Shield take on Kane and The Undertaker, the Brothers of Destruction, at SummerSlam. However, recent reports say that ‘Taker re-injured himself during the last TV spot he did with The Shield. This means the Undertaker could be out of action until WrestleMania XXX.
F4Wonline.com’s report also mentions the Shield’s tentative SummerSlam plans, since it appears that a match with the Brothers of Destruction is off the table. It is rumored that Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will defend their Tag Team Championships against either Randy Orton and Sheamus, or the team of Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger.
Dean Ambrose is currently penciled in to be defending his United States Championship against Christian during the PPV. Originally, it was planned to have Ambrose face Rey Mysterio for the US title, but with Mysterio’s return date not set in stone by SummerSlam yet, WWE officials have put Christian in his spot.
WWE SummerSlam will emanate from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California on August 18th.
