The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided some backstage news on the future of Adam Rose. According to the report, Rose’s absence from “Monday Night Raw” is considered to be a bad sign, and it is likely that Rose will now remain on the undercard replacing Santino Marella as the resident comedic performer.
Rose appeared during the July 7 edition of “WWE Superstars,” and did also compete in a match during the July 11 edition of “SmackDown,” but not working “Monday Night Raw” is said to be a very tell tale sign that certain WWE officials, most notably Vince McMahon and WWE director Kevin Dunn, are not buying his worth.
As previously reported, Dunn apparently hates the Rose gimmick. Other reports claimed that McMahon is also low on the gimmick, mainly for not getting the humor and not having the trust in Rose to get the character over. With Marella recently announcing his retirement from the ring, Rose is now being discussed as the guy that will likely take Santino’s comedy segments on WWE TV. This will likely type-cast Rose in a certain role that will never allow him to ascend past lower-midcard status.
Editor’s Note:
I was always entertained by Santino. So far, I’ve been entertained by Rose as well. I don’t see this as a bad thing as long as Rose doesn’t get overly cheesy.
