A backstage issue between WWE and Brock Lesnar kept him off “RAW” on Feb. 23 even though he had been advertised for the program for weeks. Lesnar had even been promoted for a segment at the start of the program, but did not appear on camera.
Dave Meltzer of “Wrestling Observer Radio” claims that Lesnar was kept off WWE TV on Feb. 23 because of some backstage situation between officials and the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion. During the latest edition of his podcast, Meltzer explains what he knows about the backstage issue, which the company is trying to keep very close to the chest, saying,
“The story is ongoing and still in progress. I don’t think anyone wants it out until whatever it is is settled, but something happened, but what that is, I do not know. [There] is an unanswered question, and I don’t know what it is right now.”
Meltzer also says that he doesn’t think the WrestleMania 31 main even is in turmoil, but does believe something major went down to keep the champion off of television. The question is, what?
Lesnar’s next scheduled “Monday Night Raw” appearance is on March 9 at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh. He’s then expected to be off a week, then return for the WrestleMania “go-home” edition of “RAW” on March 23. WrestlingRumors.net will keep you updated as to what this situation is between WWE officials and Lesnar as more details become available.

Uh oh. I wonder what happened? Could this be a contractual dispute?
