It’s all coming together. Tonight on Smackdown, WWE created a scenario in which they will be unifying the Women’s Tag Team Championships from both WWE and NXT.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn we’re scheduled for an interview with Kayla Braxton. However, just as the interview was about to start, WWE, Women’s Tag Team Champions, Ronda Rousey, and Shayna Baszler came out to interrupt. After a brief exchange, it was determined that the tag team titles would be unified.

Later in the show, it was determined that the match will happen in two weeks on Smackdown.

Editor’s Opinion:

This is an excellent idea, and I am all about it. I felt for a while that there were too many titles in the women’s division, and it felt like they were all there just for the sake of having them. By unifying the titles, it opens up the possibility for a lot more feuds, and for the titles to be more prestigious. There’s a lot of talent in the company and to elevate them to the next level by challenging for a more elusive title makes a lot of sense.
