One More? Edge's WWE Return Confirmed, Retirement Match Previously Teased

Homecoming and farewell? There are several legends on the WWE roster today but several of them are getting close to hanging up their boots. It can be difficult to keep track of where they are going or what they are doing, but there are certain things you can count on them doing. Now we know when we are going to see one of them, but it might be for the last time.

The Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is advertising Edge to appear on the August 18 SmackDown. There is no word on if Edge, who last appeared on the May 12 SmackDown, will appear before the August show. It should be noted that the last time Edge wrestled in his hometown of Toronto, he said that he would be retiring the next time he wrestled in the city. However, he has since asked about his statement and said that he did not know what he would be having for breakfast the next day. There is nothing to currently suggest that Edge will be retiring at the show, though he has referenced it before.

Opinion: While I don’t think that Edge is going to be retiring anytime soon, it is something that fans are going to have to think about at some point in the future. At the end of the day, Edge turns 50 years old later this year and does not have much time left in the ring. There is something cool about the idea of retiring in his home country of Canada and now we are getting closer and closer to that point.
