Something has to be done. With previous reports of morale being low in the locker room and the rise in popularity of AEW as of late, WWE is trying to find ways to keep themselves on top of the sports world.
According to a previous edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon held a meeting with WWE television officials and told everyone that there will be no more wrestling during commercial breaks. A match can still continue through a break, but there can’t be any actual wrestling.
John Pollock of Post Wrestling elaborated on this point, saying that the announcement was made during the usual pre-Raw production meeting. The idea is that legitimate sports don’t play during the break, so they are adjusting their match presentation in order to be more consistent with that idea.

While I get the reasoning behind it and it doesn’t really effect the home viewers, it could make things more difficult for the live audiences. If the crowd starts to become bored by this, we will hear about it on social media, so it won’t be good for anyone.
