11. Seth Rollins Injures His Knee at a Live Event
Even the World Heavyweight Champion is not immune from the injury bug.
On November 4 of this year, Seth Rollins was competing against Kane in a match at Live Event in Dublin, Ireland. During the match, Rollins landed awkwardly on his knee, and as a result, needed to undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL/MCL and medical meniscus. As a result, Rollins was forced to surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and as of this article, will be out of action for another 4-7 months.
This was a devastating blow for WWE, as they were already lacking for star power during this time. John Cena was taking some much needed time off, and Randy Orton was out with a shoulder injury, leaving Rollins as the lone top guy in the company. While it also gave the younger performers an opportunity to step up and prove why they deserve to be at the top of the mountain, there was still a gaping hole that was created, considering the amazing year that “The Architect” had (more on that later).
Needless to say, Rollins’ presence is sorely missed, and I expect even more incredible things from him in 2016.
