1. Seth Rollins Cashes in “Money In The Bank” at WrestleMania
2015 was the year of Seth Rollins.
After his breakthrough performance at “Royal Rumble”, WWE knew that they had something special on their hands with “The Architect of The Shield.” As a result, they allowed him to have his moment on the grandest stage of the them all.
The WWE Universe was not sold on Roman Reigns by this point, and everyone in San Francisco was hoping that Brock Lesnar would destroy the 2015 “Royal Rumble” winner. Everyone also knew that somewhere in the back Seth Rollins was lurking with that briefcase, but weren’t sure if this was to be the night that he pulled the trigger.
When his music hit, and Rollins made a beeline for the ring near the end of the main event, the crowd went nuts and they knew that something special was going to happen. After turning the match into a triple threat by cashing in his contract, Rollins made history by being the first superstar to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship via “Money In The Bank” at a WrestleMania event.
This moment launched what would be a monumental year for Rollins. His role as the top heel of the company was brilliant, and he played his part to perfection. If it was not for his unfortunate injury, he would still be the champion in my opinion.
When Rollins does make his recovery, he will be better than ever, and I have no doubt that he will pick up right where he left off. But the fact that he was able to capture the title in the main event of WrestleMania makes this my choice for top moment of the year.
