That’s an opinion. AEW COO Tony Khan was recently interviewed on the NFL Network in preparation for the 2024 NFL Draft which is taking place this weekend. Khan serves as the Chief Football Strategy Officer the Jacksonville Jaguars, owned by his father, Shad.
During the broadcast, he was wearing a neck brace, to sell the injury that was sustained during a storyline attack from The Young Bucks and Jack Perry. This led to a conversation about AEW and Khan’s thoughts on it, and he had the following to say:
“AEW, we’ve been doing this for five years. We are the most successful sports start-up since the AFL, pre-merger. There has not been a challenger brand that has gained as much market share as AEW in many, many years.
“We are like the Pepsi of pro wrestling. We’re up against a really evil juggernaut. WWE is our competitor, that’s who we’re facing. AEW, like the Pepsi of pro wrestling. WWE is like the Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling… I’m really proud of what we do down here…”
Tony Khan compares AEW & WWE and in doing so calls WWE the Harvey Weinstein of pro-wrestling. pic.twitter.com/6CKpxK3Jk1

Editor’s Opinion:
This was so cringeworthy, that even the NFL announcers had to pivot because of how ridiculous Tony Khan sounds here. How on earth can you defend these comments? To compare another wrestling company to someone like Weinstein is in incredibly poor taste, particularly in today’s society. Furthermore, he’s speaking to an audience that, for the most part, probably doesn’t tune into AEW and knows their storylines. This is another VERY poor look for him, which has become his standard operating procedure as of late.
Note: I’m being VERY tame in how I really feel. Just imagine this take times 10.
