It doesn’t sound good. It had been previously reported that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins suffered a torn MCL and a partially torn meniscus during his match with Jinder Mahal on Raw this past week. But what does this mean for the future of Rollins and the championship?

During an advertisement on Smackdown tonight, WWE announced that Rollins will open next week’s episode of Raw and address his future as World Heavyweight Champion.

Rollins has been the inaugural champion since winning the title at Night of Champions in May 2023.

It had been rumored that a program between him and CM Punk is in the work for WrestleMania 40.

Editor’s Opinion:

If the company is announcing that Rollins will be opening the show to address his future, that’s not a good sign. These injuries can take a long time to heal, and he may not be ready to go in time for Wrestlemania. If so, this is devastating for him, Punk, and all the fans that were looking forward to this program over the next couple of months. However, as always, the main thing is that he gets better soon, so we all need to hope for the best!
