This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. According to a new report from Wrestle Votes, The Rock was slated to win the 2019 Royal Rumble event and face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 35.
Obviously, those plans were scrapped once the news broke that Reigns had to take a leave of absence due to the return of his leukemia.
You can see the tweet from Wrestle Votes below:
Rumble tidbit: Plan at one point was for The Rock to win the Royal Rumble & face Roman Reigns at Mania. That’s obviously not happening. Can Rock still win it & face Lesnar? I guess. Depends what kind of agreement Rock and WWE have. Once plans changed, Rock may have reconsidered.

The report also states that depending on the agreement that WWE and The Rock have, he could still come back and win the Rumble. This would put him against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.
Rock and Reigns are cousins in real life, and have shared a few moments together in WWE:
Editor’s Opinion:
I highly doubt this will happen. It seems far-fetched to me in the first place, but when you add the fact that The Big Dog is now out for a long time, having The Great One come back just doesn’t make sense to me. But, you never know in this business!
