7. Dean Ambrose Breaks an Intercontinental Championship Drought
Chance This Will Happen: 48%
The idea behind this part of the article is that Dean Ambrose will hold the Intercontinental Championship for more than 300 days. The last person to accomplish this feat was the Honky Tonk Man back in 1987, after which he was defeated by the Ultimate Warrior in 31 seconds.
Ambrose breaking that record is not out of the realm of possibility. He is a great worker both in and out of the ring, and could be used to hold together one of the strongest mid-cards in WWE history. I know many fans want to see him in the main event picture, but I don’t believe that the time is right for Ambrose to climb to the top of the ladder. The main event picture has already been established for the next few months, and adding “The Lunatic Fringe” into the mix will only cause him to be lost in the shuffle.
There is no doubt in my mind that he will be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion one day. But until then, why not break a nearly 20-year old record in the process?
