Technically speaking. Curtis Axel is still in the 2015 “Royal Rumble”. The trend known as “Axelmania” took off early last year when Axel entered the Rumble but was attacked by Erick Rowan before entering the match.

He was never officially eliminated from the match, and he’s sure to bring that up on social media and on WWE television in his pursuit to win the 2016 “Royal Rumble” match.

On last week’s Monday Night Raw, The Big Show announced himself as the first entrant in this month’s “Royal Rumble” match. As a giant, he’s always going to have the potential to win the whole match no matter what number he draws.

Curtis Axel has announced himself as the second entrant in the match. Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that he’ll actually win. However, superstars can still make a significant mark in the match and gain momentum from it. In the case of Axel, he’ll be able to get back on television after the Hulk Hogan issues of 2015 derailed his character.

Here is the latest trailer for the “Royal Rumble” event that takes place on January 24th and will be held in Orlando, Florida. WWE is going to be announcing more entrants as the weeks roll on through January.
