1. John Cena Clinches His 16th World Championship
Chance This Will Happen: 100%
I can’t see how this won’t happen in 2016.
John Cena winning his 16th World Championship and tying Ric Flair’s record for most World Titles of all time was teased several times last year, which lead Jon Stewart to cost Cena that opportunity at “SummerSlam.” However, it has been proven several times in the past, that when WWE feels that ratings are down and the product isn’t connecting with the current fan base, they tend put Cena in the main event.
The leader of the “CeNation” is one of the Top 10 WWE superstars of all time, without a doubt. When he holds the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, it is always good for business. Merchandise sales increase, and people tend to tune in either to cheer for him, or to hope that he gets his ass beat by the next up and coming challenger.
With a few years left in his tank, he will rise to the top of the mountain several more times before he hangs up his boots for good.
The buzz around Cena tying Flair’s record will draw an incredible interest, and WWE can use this angle in the storyline leading up to the match. When they do pull the trigger and award Cena his 16th, and eventually 17th championship, they will be moments that will last in wrestling history, and will be talked about for many years to come.
And it will begin with Cena’s 16th World Championship in 2016. That is a guarantee.
