Those are some new ideas. WWE CEO Nick Khan recently spoke at the JPMorgan Global TMT Teleconference on Tuesday, where he discussed a number of topics. Most notable, were some ideas that were being discussed internally regarding Raw and Smackdown.

With regards to Raw, Khan emphasized that he doesn’t see the show changing from being 3 hours long each week. He did say, however, that they’re in discussions about what to do with the 10-11 PM hour, and whether or not to have it feature more “adult” content.

Khan also mentioned that they have discussed the idea of Smackdown becoming a 3-hour show as well, but nothing is set in stone right now.

Editor’s Opinion:

In my opinion, there’s already too much wrestling content out there each week as it is. In addition to what WWE is doing, you have AEW, Impact, ROH, etc. Furthermore, Raw being a three-hour show makes it a big time commitment for a lot of people, and they just don’t have the opportunity to watch it in its entirety every week. Also, a two-hour show is the perfect amount of time for Smackdown, as it takes care of everything that it needs to storyline-wise from week to week. I hope that WWE leaves everything right where it is.
