It would seem that the time has finally arrived.
On tonight’s episode of “Monday Night Raw,” Shane McMahon made the historic announcement that at “Battleground,” Dean Ambrose will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat match against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
The “Lunatic Fringe” opened the show as the new champion, after cashing in his contact on “The Architect” last night at “Money In The Bank.” After cutting a promo, both Reigns and Rollins would come out and make their claim to face Ambrose for the title. This would cause Shane-O-Mac to make his presence felt, and announce a match between the two in the main event of “Raw,” to determine the new No. 1 contender for the championship.
However, the match ended in a double count-out, and therefore, had no winner. After Ambrose said that he would take on both Rollins and Reigns in the same night, McMahon made the Triple Threat match official.
Editor’s Note:
There is no secret that fans have wanted to see this match for a very long time. And although many people feel that this should be a “SummerSlam” or WrestleMania match, my guess would be that WWE has something even bigger planned for both of those events. We should simply enjoy the match that is being given to us, as it will be an absolute classic. I can’t wait!
