Finn Bálor made his much-anticipated debut in his Demon alter ego tonight on “Monday Night Raw.” After Rollins continued to call out “The Demon King,” Bálor emerged in this form, and proceeded to lay out “The Architect.”
Bálor and Rollins will square off in a match to crown the first ever WWE Universal Champion at “SummerSlam.” Bálor won the right to do this by winning both a Fatal-4 way match as well as a one-on-one match against Roman Reigns on the July 25 edition of “Monday Night Raw.”
The Demon has been Bálor’s trademark entrance since his time in NXT. He uses it for special entrances at various NXT: Takeover events, which has led to him being recognized as one of the most unique and enigmatic superstars on the main roster.
Editor’s Note:
Although I disagree with the decision, I completely understand why WWE decided to debut Bálor’s Demon attire tonight. There are many casual fans, both in attendance as well as watching on TV, that have never seen this side of him, and would be very confused if they were introduced to this form at “SummerSlam.” That being said, I think it could have been done in a video package or something, and they could saved the real thing for Sunday. It would have made the Demon debut one of those special WWE moments that would have been talked about for ages.
