Samoa Joe was expected to debut in the Royal Rumble, but apparently WWE had a slight change of heart in doing so. No one could be happier about this than Jim Ross, who had nothing but praise for the choice on his blog.

In the posting, he wrote regarding Samoa Joe’s debut on Raw, where he viciously attacked Seth Rollins, that it was his personal highlight of the program. “Joe was aggressive as hell and I loved it and it certainly suspended my disbelief in a memorable way.”

He also went on to praise Samoa Joe’s abilities in and out of the ring, stating that, “He’s got great verbal skills if allowed to be himself. I said then and I still believe it today that Joe is as well suited to face Brock Lesnar at a future, major WWE event as anyone on the entire roster.”

He also suggests that WWE creative go ahead and start looking at Samoa Joe against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 34 next year.

He also further mentions that his association with Triple H, “will not make either of them automatically ‘heels’ at least at this time, I still expect to see HHH vs Rollins on April 2 in Orlando.”
