As the WWE continues to bolster their women’s wrestling lineup, a ton of emphasis has been placed on their upcoming Mae Young Classic, which aims to do just that. With several people on the current lineup for the classic not being signed to a WWE contract–including names like Toni Storm of the UK’s PROGRESS Wrestling, and Princesa Sugehit of Mexico’s Lucha Libre circuit–we are unsure of their status with the company coming into the classic and going out of it. Some of these might actually see a future within the company beyond this tournament.

One such name that might actually see a future within the WWE is someone who has already spent time there. Rumored to be a part of the tournament is Serena Deeb, who retired from wrestling in 2015. She spent a year within the WWE on Smackdown as part of CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society, and ultimately only had one match during her tenure. Prior to her time with the WWE, she had previously wrestled in the Louisville-based Ohio Valley Wrestling where she was a six-time women’s champion.

Is it possible that we could see her make a major comeback to the ring? Time will tell.
