Hulk Hogan and the WWE have been on the outs since 2015, when a sex tape leaked by Gawker emerged with Hogan using racial slurs came to light. The company disavowed their relationship with him by removing his name from the Hall of Fame and removed all of his merchandise from their online stores.
Regardless, there have been reports of Hogan’s return to WWE, with the belief that it will happen sooner rather than later. There was also rumors of an appearance by Hogan at Wrestlemania as a sign to show that relations between him and the company are thawing since the fiasco.
Yesterday, it was reported that he will be opening up a Hogan Beach Shop 8 miles from the venue where Wrestlemania will take place the week of the event, and will be signing autographs a few hours before Wrestlemania starts. While this could’ve quelled rumors of his appearance at Wrestlemania, the time frame still left question marks as to whether he could still hop in his car and be in the locker room shortly before the event goes on air.
Wonder no more. Hogan himself has taken to Twitter to say that he is not going to the event, while still taking time to shamelessly self-promote the grand opening of the store.
