According to a report by PWInsider.com, WWE officials are planning big changes within the Divas division following WrestleMania 31 on March 29.
The #GiveDivasAChance movement has opened a lot of eyes within the company. Matches featuring the Divas have been noticeably longer on television since the hashtag trended on social media.
The report also notes that the success of WWE “Total Divas” on the E! Network has made officials feel that they need to do more with their female performers.
The problem is that “Total Divas” books the girls to have such strong personalities, yet when new fans tune in to see their favorite stars of the show on “Monday Night Raw,” they don’t get that same feeling.
Officials don’t want to lose fans because of that.
AJ Lee and Paige will team at WrestleMania 31 to take on Divas Champion Nikki Bella and her sister Brie Bella in the only Divas match on the card.
Editor’s Note
There’s no denying that the Divas division as a whole needs an overhaul of some sort. That begins with WWE re-evaluating how they book its Divas on weekly programming and not making the matches so short and uneventful. I hope that we see further progression and improvement in that regard.
