As reported here at WrestlingRumors.net on Oct. 5, WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin revealed on a recent episode of his podcast that he is in fact training for a wrestling comeback.

Austin’s last match with the company was at WrestleMania 19 in a losing effort against The Rock.

PWInsider.com has now confirmed that World Wrestling Entertainment is in serious talks with Austin over the 49-year-old having an increased role with the company in 2015.

WWE has promoted “The Steve Austin Show” several times over the past month during “Monday Night Raw,” creating speculation over the two parties possibly already being in cahoots and having some sort of arrangement.

There is no word yet on whether WWE plans on having Austin compete at either WrestleMania 31 or 32, although the wheels appear to be in motion for “The Texas Rattlesnake” to have final match at one of the two events.

Austin has “trolled” fans in the past on his Twitter account over getting back in the ring. He even had a poster photoshopped of himself with the Loch Ness Monster for a potential “dream match.”

Editor’s Note

There’s no denying the fact that Austin is one of the biggest stars WWE has ever had. If he’s healthy enough to compete at WrestleMania against the likes of Brock Lesnar, John Cena or even (seriously) a returning CM Punk, you have to milk that for all it’s worth.
