After losing his match to Roman Reigns at WWE “Fast Lane” for the right to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Daniel Bryan is now seemingly without a direction heading into WrestleMania 31.
According to PWInsider Elite, it was said backstage following the show that Bryan will be facing either Dolph Ziggler or Sheamus at the big event.
Which superstar it will be remains to be seen.
There were reports that Bryan could be added to a Lesnar vs. Reigns title match to make it a Triple Threat, but those plans appear to be dead.
Bryan and Ziggler have engaged in back-and-forth Twitter exchanges in order to make a match between the two come to fruition. WWE.com even teased the bout as well.
Sheamus was going to be Bryan’s opponent at WrestleMania 31 until “The Yes Movement” forced WWE’s hand and altered the main event.
WWE has teased Sheamus’ return to television over the past couple of weeks, although it looks like “The Celtic Warrior” will be working as a heel.
We should know more about Bryan’s WrestleMania 31 opponent following “Monday Night Raw” on Feb. 23.
Editor’s Note
It’s really a win-win in terms of wrestling. Dolph vs. Bryan would be loved more by the IWC, but Sheamus and Bryan have had killer matches together in the past. I’m not opposed to either bout, frankly.
