“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles is arguably the biggest name in professional wrestling not competing in World Wrestling Entertainment, although a large amount of fans would certainly love to see what could happen if the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion made the jump.
During a recent appearance on “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair’s podcast, fellow WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin discussed Styles after the two went back-and-forth on TNA Wrestling and how hard it must be for their performers to kill it in the ring and not have the crowd support to back it up.
Flair then praised Styles, saying “mechanically, he’s Shawn Michaels.”
“I wouldn’t put him on Shawn Michaels’ level, but the stuff he can do in the ring and as talented as he is, I believe the kid deserves a run in the WWE,” Austin replied. “I’ve never met him, but I think he’s badass.”
Austin then mentioned how being in TNA Wrestling has left a negative stigma on Styles, even though he’s not an active competitor for the company anymore. Even so, the “WWE 2K16” cover athlete believes signing veterans from outside of the company, like Styles, would benefit what’s looked upon as a very green WWE locker room.
Styles mentioned in a recent interview with Wrestling Observer Radio that if WWE came calling with a decent enough offer that made sense to him, he would definitely have to consider it.

Steve Austin gets it. AJ Styles needs one run with WWE before hanging up his boots, which he said may come at the age of 42.
